The Cleveland Browns traded Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams.
Myles Garrett posted a goodbye message to Browns fans on social media.
The trade occurred after nine seasons with the Cleveland Browns.
Garrett was dealt for edge rusher Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick, and a 2029 third-round pick.
The Browns made the playoffs just twice during Garrett’s tenure, going 54-79-1 in 134 games.
Garrett earned All-Pro honors seven times, including five first-team All-Pro selections.
The Cleveland Browns are currently 7th in the National Football Conference with a 9-7-1 record, on a L4 streak, and face the Jacksonville Jaguars on September 13, 2026.
Garrett will join a loaded Rams team featuring star power and Super Bowl aspirations.
And the Browns will look to rebuild their defense without their star edge rusher.
But Garrett expressed gratitude to the city of Cleveland and the Browns organization.
So he thanked Browns fans, the Haslam family, and general manager Andrew Berry.
Garrett wrote that the city of Cleveland and Northeast Ohio will always be a place he’s proud to call home.
The 30-year-old Garrett had a record-setting season in 2025, with 23 sacks.
He was selected No. 1 in the 2017 NFL Draft and went on to amass 125.5 sacks.
Garrett closed his letter by saying he holds no regrets from his time with the Browns.
He gave the city everything he had and suited up with pride.
The Cleveland Browns will look to move forward without their star defender.
